Only 400 R33
TKR Nissan Skylines were produced by Tommy Kaira from 1995 to
1998, These were comprehensively upgraded, including signature
pieces both in and out of the car, this is the only one to ever
reach U.S. shores.
One of the
main upgrades included a turbocharger which could raise power
from 330 to 425 bhp, a six piece bodykit specifically for the
Skyline GTR which usually came along with 18-inch, 3-piece, split-rims
and an upgraded coil-over suspension.
The stock
vise-tight bucket seats and stock rear seats are trimmed in trademark
Tommy Kaira red and In front and in plain sight is the Tommy Kaira
gauge cluster of which houses among other things a 10,000-rpm
tachometer with a lofty 8000 rpm redline , 13-inch four-piston
front and two-piston rear Brembo brakes of which the weight becomes
not apparent under braking.
Also mounted three gauges in a carbon-fiber surround,
detailing boost pressure, oil temperature, torque distribution
between the front and rear wheels.
The Nissan
Skyline Tommy Kaira R
also sports ATESSA-ETS Pro, one of the most advanced all-wheel-drive
systems ever designed and the 2.6-liter zings to 8000 rpm within
a heartbeat. The twin-plate Tommy kaira clutch has easy uptake,
and the lighter flywheel contributes to an impossibly fast-revving
engine, by lessening the rotating mass at the end of the crankshaft.
